PRE-K SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
From subsidizing school supplies to our ongoing Pre-K Scholarship Program, we are dedicated to helping our local children and the school that fosters them.
Now that the the fabric of our education system is being completely re-woven due to COVID-19, our local school can use a little extra help with acquiring supplies needed for children to continue their schooling from home.
We recently provided such support by fulfilling the teachers’ first round of wish-lists for their students.

HOW TO HELP A 3-YEAR OLD FINISH HIGH SCHOOL
It’s simply a fact that 3- and 4-year old children who attend school PRIOR to starting Kindergarten are more likely to complete high school.

They’re more likely to have high reading scores in the 5th grade.

They’re more likely NOT to be held back to repeat a school year.

They’re more likely to complete college!
And these statistics are even more compelling in dual-language households.
But, unlike the rest of the public school system, Pre-K is not free. In fact, it’s rather expensive – up to $620/month for a 5-day schedule with after-school care.
So that’s why Waves of Compassion Foundation offers Pre-K Scholarships to students attending the Bodega Bay Elementary School program.
How does it work? Many of our local families qualify for support from a California fund administered by the State. But there are a few families who make just a bit over the maximum allowed monthly income. Those are the families we’re helping, by providing matching funds.
If you know of a family with a 3- or 4-year old child, encourage them to enroll in a Pre-K program!
